A Quiet Refuge for Traveling Families
Traveling with an infant or young child can be an overwhelming, vulnerable experience. Crowded gates, sudden delays, and public concourse noise leave mothers with few dignified options for feeding, nursing, or soothing their babies.
In January 2017, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport opened dedicated Mother's Rooms in coordination with MomDoc Charities. MomDoc Charities partnered directly on the suites, providing the special touch with fresh paint, comforting wall art, lighting, and décor to turn standard airport facilities into serene retreats.

Baggage Claim Care Suite
Located in the public arrivals area before TSA checkpoints. Designed for nursing mothers arriving in Phoenix, waiting for baggage, or meeting family before ground transportation.

A dedicated companion bench or ottoman keeping bags off the floor and giving traveling siblings a place to sit.
Sanitary Changing Table
Clean, secure changing surface complete with paper towel dispenser and hand sanitizer station.

Side table curated with colorful children's picture books to keep little ones engaged.

Dedicated separate rooms located inside airport restroom suites for safety, peace, and quiet.
Traveler Practicalities & TSA Guidelines
Formula, breast milk, and juice in quantities greater than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters are allowed in carry-on baggage and do not need to fit within a quart-sized bag. TSA allows breast milk transportation whether your child is traveling with you or not. Ice packs and gel coolers are also permitted through screening checkpoints.
All three Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Mother's Rooms are fully ADA-compliant, offering level entry clearance for strollers, wheeled luggage, and mobility devices.
